Introduction
The Mechatronics Center of Excellence (COE) at Harris utilizes critical, multi-disciplinary
engineering capabilities to develop state-of-the-art Mechatronics Systems. The Mechatronics
COE provides precise, high-reliability solutions for wide-ranging missions. World-class
resources—including engineers, scientists, state-of-the-art tools and facilities—enable
the COE to develop the technologies and capabilities necessary to meet the current
and future needs of our customers. Using our legacy experience in precision mechanisms,
space mechanisms, remote control tools, special communications, imaging, electro-optics,
electronics, software, and controls, the Mechatronics COE develops advanced designs
and products through application of existing technologies, while working collaboratively
with academic, industrial and customer partners.
Mission
To design, develop and apply mechatronic technologies to create precision, fixed
robotic manipulators, remotely controlled access robots, autonomous mobile robotic
vehicles and space-deployed robotic manipulators.
