
The Health Services and Solutions business unit of Harris Information Technology Services provides services related to clinical research, biostatistics, and informatics to federal, state, and public sector organizations to support and enhance their public health and research objectives. For more than three decades, Harris IT Services has supported: (1) biostatistical research, public health surveys, and statistical research; (2) clinical trials to develop cures for cancer, AIDS, and other diseases; and (3) the efficient dissemination of health information to the public.
Our Health Services and Solutions team has blended deep domain/IT knowledge with strategic alliances with industry leaders to offer clients ready access to intellectual leadership, expert resources, and commercial best practices.
- Clinical Research: Through our strategic alliances, Harris IT Services can develop/design studies, create protocols, and conduct clinical trials. We offer ready access to renowned investigators and state-of-the-art clinical facilities, laboratories, and pharmacies.
- Clinical Research Support: Harris IT Services specializes in providing the staff, infrastructure, and systems to support clinical research. Our services include clinical data management; patient registration, auditing, and monitoring; IRB support; and data analysis and reporting.
- Biostatistics and Surveys: Harris IT Services can provide a full range of services to support health studies and surveys, including sample design; survey instrument development; survey operations and data collection; data integration, editing, and quality control; data analysis; and publication and dissemination of results.
- Medical Error Reduction/Patient Safety: Harris IT Services applies wireless and hand-held technologies, biometrics, and 2D or 3D bar-coding to provide real-time data collection, thereby minimizing the need for manual transcription and reducing potential errors. We integrate systems to more effectively track patient data, physician orders, and dispensation of drugs. Our solutions are applicable to hospital and clinical settings and other areas requiring patient data management, such as vaccination programs.
- Health Systems Studies and Design: Harris IT Services provides complete lifecycle development of health-related systems, including hospital information systems, pharmacy systems, clinical data management systems, and survey processing systems.
- Full Service IT Support: By drawing on the capabilities of other Harris business units, Harris IT Services is able to support all of our clients' critical IT needs, including information assurance, e-government, network management, user support, and systems administration.

We apply the intellectual leadership of our senior staff and industry partners to intelligently select, apply, and modify proven standard operating procedures and industry best practices to develop best-value solutions for each client. Through program development, technology transfer, and staff training, Harris IT Services enables our clients to more effectively produce, maintain, and readily access high-quality, timely data.
Harris IT Services also applies IT expertise to improve the quality, timeliness, and availability of health data. We offer electronic data collection methods using web-based systems, IVR, and CAPI, as well as the capability to integrate data management systems using advanced data warehousing and networking technologies. Harris IT Services enables more effective analysis and dissemination of project results by applying its experience in database management best practices, statistical programs, and electronic publishing.

- Application of Good Clinical Data Management Practices (GCDMP), including development of Data Quality Control Plans for clinical data management projects
