Harris is leading the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) CONNECT Gateway project. The NHIN will enable federal healthcare agencies and private healthcare service providers to exchange patient information seamlessly with security and privacy, improving the quality of care and reducing costs. Harris' CONNECT solution creates secure, interoperable information exchange between federal agencies and the private healthcare sector, with patients in control of how their information is shared. Military Health Systems, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Social Security Administration, the Indian Health Service, the National Cancer Institute, and the Centers for Disease Control were first to partner in federal consortium. The Social Security Administration reduced health records access from months to seconds leveraging CONNECT and is the first federal agency to go live. The CONNECT Solution is part of our commitment to delivering enterprise intelligence to healthcare so that patients can receive better care at reduced cost.
