Harris Corporation Awarded Opportunity to Compete for $25 Million in Technology Security Contracts for Agriculture Department

New Contract Vehicle Will Enhance Security Of USDA Systems And Data

WASHINGTON, DC, September 29, 2009 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) is one of six companies selected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to compete for contracts that will enhance the security of technology and networks that support the agency's critical missions, one of which is ensuring the nation's food safety. The five-year contract vehicle has a maximum value of $25 million for all the competitors and consists of one base year and four one-year options.

Harris, an international communications and information technology company, now has the opportunity to provide secure Information Technology (IT) solutions to all 29 agencies that comprise the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Potential services include security analysis and assessment, communications security support, designing secure infrastructures, network penetration testing, forensic support and others.

Other companies selected were Unisys, Mantech International Corp., Verizon, KLC Network Services, and Computer Sciences Corporation.
