The PV/Tool is used in OS/COMET® to provide an environment for building and developing syntactically correct OS/COMET® procedures. Components include:

• Main Window
• Editor
• Directive Assistant
• Command Assistant
• Syntax Checker

It provides access to available directives, directive parameters, and parameter properties to aid in procedure development (Directives are OS/COMET® Control Language (CCL) requests issued by an operator or by a Perform File to access services provided by OS/COMET® or an OS/COMET® application). It is an off-line process that may run independent of the OS/COMET® Software Bus.
