How to Use Seaport-e
Quality Program

Harris’ performance-based project management strategy includes quality control systems to ensure that implicit and explicit Navy requirements are met. Harris uses internal Quality Assurance departments and third-party organizations to audit and validate our business systems to ensure that they are effective in meeting all of our customers’ needs. One example of our commitment to quality is our adoption of the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®). Businesses that adopt this model have demonstrated decreases in cost and schedule variances as process maturity levels increased. Use of our CMMI Level 3-certified processes will maximize the quality of our products while ensuring that the Navy’s goals are achieved at all levels of the Seaport-e contract.

Task Order Project Level

Our quality processes will be tailored to conform to each project’s approved program plan. Project performance will be monitored and integrated at the Task Order Project level through reports and rolled up to the Seaport-e program management for review.

Seaport-e Program Level

A portfolio of Seaport-e projects and associated performance measures will be established and managed at this level.
