Harris Corporation's Acousto-Optic RF Driver is designed to complement the H-400 Series RF Phase Modulation Capable AO device family. Specially designed driver circuitry* is incorporated which allows flexible operation of the H-400 Series devices in either RF Phase Modulation mode or in conventional RF pulse “On/Off” AM Modulation Mode. The Phase Modulation Mode provides exceptional beam pointing stability. When pointing stability requirements are relaxed but additional “On/Off Contrast is desired, the “On/Off” AM Modulation Mode may be utilized.
The H-401D may be operated in stand alone mode, using a saved optimized factory default setting, or may be reconfigured via a flexible serial port interface using the included easy setup AO Modulator Control software GUI. Optimized phase and amplitude settings which produce the best contrast and diffraction efficiency at a given wavelength and frequency can be interactively set in the lab and saved to the driver default configuration memory or to a text file. Configurations saved to a text file are easily loaded into the driver by using the GUI. Both CW pulse phase and amplitude modulation in addition to linear FM sweep capabilities are provided and may be synchronized to either an external or internal modulation source. Included with the H-401D are an external micro-coax ribbon cable for interfacing to any H400 Series compatible device, along with external power supply adapter, and the easy setup user control software.
