15 Meter Global Data Set Harris ImageLinks™ 15 Meter Global Data Set is the most realistic medium resolution global imagery product available in the visual simulation market. This 15 meter simulated true-color orthomosaic covers most of the Earth’s landmass. It was built from the best available Landsat 7 scenes that were collected circa 2000 and has been orthorectified to be within ~50 meter CE90 horizontal accuracy. Harris ImageLinks’ advanced color adjustment techniques and algorithms have created the ideal world imagery product for multiple applications where natural color realism derived from satellite imagery is essential. These applications include but are not limited to: - GIS and mapping applications
- 3D visualization
- Out-the-Window (OTW) flight simulation
- Broadcast market (i.e., weather)
Harris ImageLinks has developed a unique process to seamlessly place 5 m and 1 m insets within this global mosaic so that insets are registered accurately to best available ground control and coregistered, tonally balanced, and feather-blended into the surrounding 15 Meter Global Data Set product. The 15 Meter Global Data Set can be obtained in a variety of formats, but the default deliverables are WGS84, geographic Lat/Lon in 1x1 degree overlapping geocells in Geotiff format at 15 meter resolution. The 15 Meter Global Data Set can be acquired for the entire extent of the globe in 5x5 degree tile blocks or by large custom geographic regions.
