The HT/MT Program involved terminal modernization to provide the DOD with greater communications capability, increased terminal availability/reliability, and reduced life-cycle costs using state-of-the-art technology. It extended the life of strategic DOD Defense Satellite Communication System terminals (AN/FSC-78, AN/FSC-79, and AN/FSC-39) by 15-20 years. Harris upgraded SATCOM terminals and refurbished the associated antennas. Work performed by Harris included the design, manufacture, integration, test, installation, checkout, and support of major subsystem equipment upgrades for the terminals.
