Communication Networks Harris is involved in the design of the terrestrial communications networks supporting the GMD and other MDA programs. Our expertise is centered on LAN/WAN network architecture, commercial network product selection and integration, and the modeling and simulation of complex communications networks. Satellite CommunicationsHarris is an Industry leading supplier of ground, sea and space-based satellite communication (SATCOM) systems. For Missile Defense, our DSCS terminals provide the backbone communications links to multiple remote MDA sites including Fort Greely and Eareckson Air Force Station in Alaska. We provide the commercial SATCOM connectivity to the Sea-Based X-band Radar (SBX) platform. Our OS/COMET® satellite command and control product is in use today for the Iridium and GPS satellite constellations, and is being considered for multiple MDA applications. Our programmable modem and anti-scintillation modem products offer advanced yet flexible waveform implementations for the evolving missile defense mission. Systems Engineering and SupportHarris provides systems engineering services and support to other key Missile Defense programs including the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) in Colorado Springs, and the MDA National Team in Crystal City, VA.
