Voice Switching and Control System (VSCS)

The Voice Switching and Control System is part of the FAA’s nationwide system to automate the U.S. air traffic control system. VSCS provides the critical air-to-ground and ground-to-ground communications links for enroute aircraft and air traffic controllers throughout the United States.

Among the solutions Harris provides for air traffic control are key capabilities like Network Management Systems, Information Security Management, Traffic Data Collection, and advanced digital trunk interface technologies.

VHF Mode 2 Ground Station
The VHF Mode 2 Ground Station supports VHF Digital Link (VDL) Mode 2 for high-speed air-ground data. The Harris Ground Station (HGS) enables a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) or airline service provider to upgrade their remote ground radio services to the new international standard at low risk and affordable cost.

Air Traffic Control Weather Solutions

Harris provides customized weather solutions including graphical representation of weather occurrences superimposed on ATC automation displays for real-time traffic affecting situational awareness.
